Valuable Links For Your Life-Sep 17-08
Published September 17th, 2008As usual, the days and weeks are flying by! Over the last 2 weeks this site has participated in three personal finance related carnivals. It’s nice to take some time out to myself and spend a few hours going through some of the best writing in the blogosphere to bring back to my valued readers. Without further delay, here are my faves from this week!
The 142nd Festival of Frugality was hosted over at Frugal Babe. This is a great site, so take a gander at some of her other posts while you’re there visiting. By the way, Value For Your Life will be hosting the Festival of Frugality in just 2 short weeks! These 2 posts stood out from the pack for me:
- Frugal Fu issues a Pay-It-Forward Challenge. I can attest that the only thing better than seeing someone else smile, is the high you get from giving. Don’t know what I’m talking about…read the post!
- Debt Reduction Formula’s post When Frugality Kills may sound like a dramatic title, but with the obesity epidemic in North America, it’s actually quite appropriate.
Living Almost Large hosted a food-inspired 29th edition of the Money Hacks Carnival. This carnival always has some great tips for getting more out of your money, and these two posts were no exception:
- The Shark Investor writes about Investing in Yourself. I couldn’t agree more. To my fellow “young” people out there, read this post, because with time you will realize that you really are your own best asset.
- Conscious Flex writes about How To Attract Money into Your Life. This post has three things in common with my site: It is about value, money, and the Law of Attraction…I wonder what attracted me to this post
The 170th edition of the Carnival of Personal Finance rolled into The Personal Financier this week. My post about my 3 biggest personal finance mistakes certainly got some attention, as I’m sure both of these posts did:
- Saving Advice provides 16 Arguments You Can Take to Your Boss on Why You Should Be Allowed to Telecommute. I often think about this…now that I have a job where I have to commute.
- Budgets Are Sexy writes Today is going to be different, I just don’t know it yet. This post will make you smile. I love it! Personally, I try to make the conscious decision to live in the moment, and try to be a better person than I was yesterday when wake up every morning.
