Valuable Links For Your Life-Oct 9-2008

Published October 10th, 2008

What a roller coaster of a week in the world’s financial markets!  It hasn’t affected me in a huge way, but it will hurt me in the wallet for our upcoming trip.   The Canadian dollar hit a four year low today…just when we need to buy some U.S. dollars next week :(  Oh well, things could always be worse.  Now, take a break from the doom and gloom in the mass media, and enjoy some of the best personal finance posts from the  blogosphere!

This week’s Carnival of Personal Finance was hosted by Girls Just Wanna Have Funds.  The carnival included my post on my 3 Biggest Personal Finance Successes. Ginger did a great job, and these posts were my faves:

  • Miss Thrifty says Make Do and Mend: Vogue For the Credit Crunch Bunch.  This post made me smile, with some great time-tested tips for making what you have go that extra mile.

This week’s Festival of Frugality was over at Dollar Frugal.  As usual, there were so many great posts, but these two really stood out from the pack:

That’s it for now.  I wish my fellow Canadians a happy Thanksgiving weekend!
