Valuable Links For Your Life-Nov 9-2008
Published November 9th, 2008Hello readers! I’m working on sorting through my pictures of Ecuador and the Galapagos Islands, and hoping to write a travel post for you withing the next couple of weeks. In the meantime, the site participated in the 150th edition of the Festival of Frugality this week, hosted over at Bargain Briana. It was an election-themed carnival, and I loved it! While I don’t really understand why the American electoral process lasts for such a long time–I was drawn to the election. No matter the choice of political party, what a time of change-and hope in the U.S. We just recently had our 3rd election in 4 years here in Canada, and I can honestly say that we cared more and were more inspired by the charismatic leaders and hope that was associated with this American election. It’s pretty amazing that so many MILLIONS of Americans stood in endless lines for hours to vote. It’s a real testament to each person making a difference! Even though I’m a Canadian, I care about what happens with my neighbours to the South, and ultimately, what happens in the U.S. affects us as well. Anyway, on to my faves from the Voting Edition of the Festival of Frugality!
My Two Dollars has compiled the mother of all lists in 1,019 Different Ways To Save Money. I kid you not, this list is organized, and provides some great links to help you get your financial house in order!
Funny About Money has a great post about making your own gourmet dog treats in Cassie’s Dog Treats. This is something that I have done for years, and since one in two households has a pet, this will be helpful article for many people. I even bake several dozen biscuits around Christmastime, wrap them in nice Christmas cellophane with a ribbon, and give them as gifts to the staff’s pets, and our family and friend’s dogs!
Think Your Way to Wealth has a post called Create Your Own Personal Financial Bailout Plan. Two words: Personal responsibility. Some great tips and links here, especially on snowballing/snowflaking.
Happy reading!
