Valuable Links For Your Life-Dec-7-08

Published December 7th, 2008

Well, in my neck of the woods, winter is here!  I’m huddled under a giant fleece blanket with my cup of tea writing this post.  I also had the opportunity to do some great reading this week from the carnivals.  I look forward to this reading every week.  With the global economic upheaval, many of the carnivals posts are about what is going on, but many focus on ways to get more out of the money you do have, and also stories of hope.  Thanks to the Festival of Frugality and Carnival of Money stories for including my article Frugality Goes Mainstream–a special thank you to Living Almost Large for choosing it as an editor’s pick! Now, on to my faves from this week!

The Festival of Frugality traveled to Living Almost Large–the theme included some insightful frugality-related quotes!

The Financial Wellness Project did a great job of hosting the 87th edition of the Carnival of Money Stories.

  • Ask Mr. Credit Card has a post written by someone who has lived through bankruptcy in Do You Have a Bankruptcy Attitude? This post is an eye-opener as I don’t know anyone who’s been though the process. I think sometimes people may think it’s an easy way out of their problems, but there are some long-lasting repercussions.
  • The Digerati Life offers some insight with 8 Lessons I Learned From the Cheapest Family in the Nation. I have seen this 20/20 special in the past, and really the most striking thing to me was that this whole family is on the same team. That is truly a rare thing nowadays, and for that alone they are to be commended.

That’s it for this week–happy reading!
