Valuable Links For Your Life-Aug 10-08
Published August 10th, 2008Welcome to a Sunday edition of my favourite posts from the blog carnivals this week. It was a big week for me, as I hosted the Carnival of Money Stories (CoMS)! To check out my editor’s picks from the CoMS click here.
Now on to a couple of other great carnivals I participated in:
The Carnival of Personal Finance mooooved on over to Squawkfox for a “City Slickers” inspired offering–and a couple of really cute pictures of her dog! These were my top picks:
- The Quest For Four Pillars finally clears up a big American mystery for me in Canadian RRSP vs. U.S. 401 (k) Retirement Account Comparison. I’ve always wondered exactly what this 401 (k) means to my friends down South, and now I have a clue!
- Wide Open Wallet shares 5 Easy Ways to Increase Your Savings. These are simple but effective suggestions since getting started on saving is often the hardest part. I especially agree with number two!
The Money Hacks Carnival was hosted over at Greener Pastures this week. Lisa did a great job with the help of her little companion Pete! There’s always very practical advice at this carnival, and these two posts stood out for me:
- The Happy Rock asks What Does Financial Simplicity Feel Like? This is a nice post to motivate those of us who have the goal of being debt free. As someone who is aggressively paying down a huge debt from school, I can say it’s a good feeling every time one goal gets accomplished, and you have one fewer loan/bill to worry about!
- Grad Money Matters has a guest post with some solid advice: Don’t Go Down With the Economy. I like this post because it reminds us that we always have the power of personal responsibility.
Have a great week!
